The brand was founded in Shanghai in 2022 by artist and fashion designer Mo Zhou.
After releasing three apparel collections, the brand shifted from fashion to jewelry following the founder’s relocation to Berlin.
With Zhou’s interdisciplinary background in both art and fashion, machtvoll is not a traditional jewelry label, but rather a wearable form of material-based art.
If its designs were enlarged or further layered with materials, they would naturally evolve into soft sculptures or woven artworks.
Machtvoll is devoted to exploring the connection between the soul and nature. Through handcrafted creation, it reveals the intrinsic language of materials — preserving the mysterious aura of primitive totems while expressing a new language of design and fashion.
Machtvoll, or powerful, speaks of our inner strength to withstand the outer world. No matter how overwhelming the flow of information in this era may be, we must always follow our own path and become our own source of power.
